Why I want to study at Sundsgården folkhögskola?
Hi. I am Eva-Cecilia Guillén, and I have a strong passion for studying web design, as it brings me immense joy to create and develop websites and do webpage art. My journey began as a programmer, specifically working with the ”SAS” programming language from the SAS Institute in Stockholm. At the medicine company, I programmed the databases, and they provided me with a solid foundation in various areas, including database management and data validation. I stopped programming because I don’t like animal testing at the medicine company. But now I want to start over again, in web design and programming.
Why I think I would be a good future developer?
Since I am an artist in oil and acrylics as well as in classical drawings, I believe my creativity serves as a useful tool in UX and UI design. These are tools that I can further explore and learn more about, for instance, AI. I love the idea of achieving well-being in programs after debugging them a few times. I think developing programs and web apps is so very fun. It is what you can call ”money for nothing.” I just love it. That is why I believe I would make a good web developer.
Personal Letter
Hi there. I am Eva-Cecilia Guillén. I started out my ”programming” career in blog design when working as a photo model and updating my model blog in 2005. I come from Nicaragua, where I lived as a child after my family left El Salvador for political reasons. It was at the era of influencers starting in 2005. I worked as a programmer from 2014 to 2015 but don’t remember everything that they taught me, and now I want to go back to programming again since I love it so much and have been thinking of going back so I can have more focus since I have various interests in different things that are creative. I am not just a programmer and an artist. I am a photo model and have done work for The Body Shop’s lipstick product ”Born Lippy.” I am versatile and creative, and I play in a rock band and am an artist and musician in my free time. I have so many interests in different things, especially in sustainability and economics. Because I think my webpage clients need a page that sells for them. But everything I decide to actually do, I really love the art and technology behind creating websites or web applications. I noticed I have many ideas and business ideas, but my concepts always end with me doing new webpages all the time for different projects and businesses. I love programming, and I would love to hear from you.
I have another mission in my life. I want to do good for the climate. I think it is a beautiful thing, thinking of Mother Earth and protecting her. The tools given by web design are just so crazy good to be used for climate activism. And it is a very central question that I have been working with since I was a child when my dad gave me a book as an 11-year-old. The book’s name is ”Program för en Grön Planet.” I think programming web apps could help ecological organizations out and Fair Trade too. I am very political as a member of society, but I never fight: Always dialogue more than debate.
